Our historic Inflation Reduction Act is giving families more breathing room by lowering health insurance and prescription drug costs, including capping the cost of insulin at $35 a month for people with Medicare. We are doing all this by investing in America - rebuilding our Nation’s roads, bridges, ports, and public transportation replacing every lead pipe in the country and expanding access to high-speed internet. And we have made Puerto Rico’s economic recovery and development a priority by providing funding for new infrastructure and clean energy projects and upgrading their transportation. We have invested in community colleges, Pell Grants, and Hispanic-Serving Institutions, helping more Latino students access higher education. I signed the most significant gun safety legislation in 30 years. We expanded the Child Tax Credit, which slashed child poverty by over 40 percent among Latinos to the lowest rate on record. We helped more than 2.5 million Latinos enroll in health insurance through the Affordable Care Act - that is an increase of more than 50 percent since 2020. Since I took office, we have seen over 13 million new jobs created. My Administration is working to make the American Dream real for everyone, including by expanding opportunities for Latinos across the country. Their faith and drive have pushed our country to grow, prosper, and pursue its highest ideals. Latinos have helped chart America’s course since our start - as doctors and engineers artists and entrepreneurs and leaders in science, business, labor, government, and military and across grassroots movements. It lives in the dreams of those who have only just arrived here and in the legacy of families who have been here for centuries. The Hispanic community has always embodied that ideal. I have often said that America can be defined in one word: possibilities. As a teacher, Arex will potentially have a great influence on Jean-Luc Picard, who clearly excels in his class, and the next generation of Starfleet officers, ensuring the legacy of this fan-favorite Star Trek: The Animated Series character lives far beyond him. Arex was the navigator aboard the Enterprise, and teaching Stellar Cartography – or making galactic maps – is perfectly suited for him. Arex’s inclusion in Picard’s Academy #1 does so in a way that honors the character. The inclusion of Arex as one of Picard’s Starfleet Academy instructors continues the trend of recognizing The Animated Series, fittingly as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Consequently, The Animated Series deserves to be recognized as a full part of canon – with the inclusion of elements from it in various Trek media over the years laying the framework for its restoration. Star Trek: The Animated Series helped keep the franchise alive before its resurgence in the 1980s, where the reunion of the original cast to theaters for the series' initial run of six films led to the Trek 's return to television with Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Enterprise also reintroduced Animated Series elements back into the universe during their runs.
